TrackFollows is developed and operated by an independent developer. If something fails or a menu described in a guide has changed, contact the address below. The error shown, browser and export format help identify the problem. You do not need to send your original ZIP or other people's account lists.

How results are calculated

1. The tool reads Instagram follower and following files from your ZIP, combines split follower files and deduplicates repeated accounts. It does not combine Threads lists with Instagram relationships.
2. An account in your following list but absent from your followers is shown as not following you back. An account in both lists is a mutual follow.
3. This comparison is the difference between two lists in an export. A single export cannot establish who followed you in the past and later unfollowed, or why a relationship changed.
4. Displayed dates come from relationship timestamps in the export. They are not unfollow times or last-active times. When the source contains no timestamp, an accurate date cannot be supplied.

When the counts differ from Instagram

Export account and date range

Check that you selected the intended Instagram account, Followers and following, and All time. A limited date range can omit relationships.

Files in the archive

Both follower and following lists are needed. Select the complete ZIP rather than extracting just one split follower file. JSON is recommended; supported HTML export ZIPs can also be read.

Export timing

Relationships can change while an export is being prepared or after it is downloaded. Deleted or deactivated accounts and username changes can also affect comparisons. A result alone is not proof that someone unfollowed you.

File selection problems

Check that the download has finished and try Chrome or Safari instead of an in-app browser. A damaged archive or an export missing the required lists may need to be downloaded again.

File processing and site services

Original Instagram files and relationship lists are processed in your browser and are not uploaded to a server for analysis. This does not mean the website makes no network requests. Analytics, error diagnostics and advertising services may be used. See the privacy policy for details, including on-device history in the app. TrackFollows does not automatically follow or unfollow accounts or change Instagram recommendations.

Guides and corrections

Guides explain the steps and limitations needed to use the tool. Instagram menus vary by language and app version, so screenshots are labeled as reference screens. Confirmed bugs and changes to export formats inform updates to the tool and its documentation. A blog review date records when its content was reviewed; it does not guarantee accuracy or a particular result.
